That’s enough of a lure for nature-lovers and those who are enthusiastic about botany. But if you don’t fall in either of these categories, maybe a wildlife safari will draw you in.

How about spending a summer afternoon spotting tigers and lions? Sounds exciting, doesn’t it? Plan this summer activity with your kids to give them a chance to get closer to wildlife. Sanjay Gandhi National Park has a 20-minute wildlife safari where you can observe animals in their natural habitat. The park is home to flying foxes, deer, langurs, leopards, and tigers.

  1. Go River Rafting

This summer activity is for those who are looking for something to get their adrenaline rushing. As you tackle the unbridled rapids and get closer to nature, you’ll wash all the summer blues away. The best place for river rafting near Mumbai is Kolad. It’s a tiny village that is more than 100 kilometres away from Mumbai.

River rafting is what draws travellers from across the state to this place. The river Kundalika is fierce during the monsoon months, but in summer, you can expect to see its slightly tamer avatar. It has rapids of Grade 2 and Grade 3 range, so be prepared for an adventurous ride.
